On behalf of Liatam Mining, JMAC Civil undertook an eight-month project, designing and constructing a 200-man expansion to the existing accommodation camp, situated 80km east of Widgiemooltha, Australia.
The project, which improved the current 120-man camp and facilities, resulted in a 200% capacity increase, enabling a significant workforce and production boost for Liatam Mining.
This mining infrastructure project required the design and construction of 200 mining accommodation rooms, site facilities, and infrastructure upgrades to expand the 100-man camp to accommodate up to 300 employees.
Now completed, the new camp holds 200% more capacity than the original, allowing Liatam Mining to increase its workforce and production significantly.
During construction, Liatam had “quiet hours” allocated daily for night shift teams. JMAC could only work within certain hours of each day to allow the site miners to have an adequate sleep for their next work day.
Despite the challenges and potential safety risks, JMAC teams overcame all barriers with minimal disruption to either party. This occurred via regular pre start meetings, clear communication, and safety procedures.
Zero safety incidents or LTIs occurred throughout the duration of the Project. The scope was completed on time and within budget.
